Have you ever heard of the LVMH Prize? One of the most prestigious contests of the fashion industry created by LVMH (Moet Hennesy Louis Vuitton). This group of investors operate through a lot of business segments, including: fashion and leather, selective retailing, perfumes, jewelry, etc. With important brands like Fendi, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton or Bulgari.
This year, from 1900 submissions, 20 semi-finalists were selected digitally. The jury? Virgil Abloh, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones and Stella McCartney (to name a few). Sounds like a challenge right? After a half-hour delay of the ceremony, the final decision was taken at Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
The Central Saint Martins graduate Nensi Dojaka was named winner of the LVMH prize unanimously and awarded €300,000. She will also be given the opportunity to receive a yearlong mentorship with the multinational conglomerate. Plus, this young Albanian designer will present her first solo runway show on the London Fashion Week this season.
Why we love her? Her main goal is to repaint the image of women, showing both sides: ‘the vulnerability and strength that characterizes them’. She always references Helmut Lang, Ann Demeulemeester and Alessandro Dell’Acqua. Plus, you can buy her amazing collections in Opening Ceremony and Macondo to get the look of street style stars such as Bella Hadid or Rihanna, the queen herself!
This was an amazing moment for Britain and Dojaka herself. We can’t wait to watch her future collections!
