Our favorite details from #NYFW

By Alejandra Hernandez

Street style icons, emerging trends, agitating schedules… The most fashionable time of the year for New Yorkers is back and we couldn’t be happier. Happening at the same time as the return of the U.S. Open and the first Broadway show post-covid, the vaccine-required New York Fashion Week is completely blowing our minds.

As discussed months before, masks are truly becoming an accessory as time pass and the chance to be in-person again is as exciting as watching front row seats being occupied once again. It’s been a long crazy journey for the fashion industry after 20 months of isolation and online shows.

Let’s see a quick recap of our highlight details:

Pink Braids

Jeremy Scott decided to show his latest collection in the middle of Bryant Park. The wide variety of stunning colored braids captured our attention and the way they perfectly matched those fitted skirts was mind-blowing. Our favorites? Light pink, of course.

A pet friendly LaQuan Smith

LaQuan Smith’s venue was just… perfect. 102 floors above, beautiful French poodles modeled next to Smith’s newest collection.  This mix couldn’t be better.

Acid Colors in Proenza Schouler

Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough made us miss summer with their stunning colorful choices this season. A perfect color palette mixed with elegant silhouettes and beach vibes. Plus, the chosen venue transported the crowd directly to an island.

Double trouble

What’s better than a purse for your purse? Gabriela Hearst made us believe in magic with this piece shown along a white long dress.

Lady-D Vibes

Remember Lady Diana’s wedding dress? Beautiful right? Now imagine that stunning piece in red. Yes. Carolina Herrera made it again. A collection full of prints and elegant puffy dresses styled with geometrical pearls. Breathtaking.

Dancing Rodarte Hems

The movements this dress made were picture perfect. It seemed like every single piece danced all over the catwalk. We were in love from the moment the first look made its appearance.
